The Commuter – A short film shot entirely on the Nokia N8

Nokia has recently released it’s new N8 phone which boasts what is perhaps the best HD video capabilities of any phone on the market. To market the phone Nokia has put together a short film shot entirely using the N8. They also pulled in Dev Patel from Skins and Slumdog Millionaire fame and the one and only Pamela Anderson, to appear in the production. Fans could also win a contest to appear in the film. The film itself is filled with action that includes parkour chase sequence and a car chase scene. Another very clever marketing campaign from Nokia and the camera performs well albeit with a highly professional team behind it.

New Blackberry Ad Starring Diplo and Shot With the Canon 5D

Blackberry already holds a huge share of the smart phone market, especially in the business sector where it still dominates the iPhone. It looks like they now have their sights set on the consumer ‘cool’ market as well. This new ad features non other than producer extraordinaire Diplo and was shot with the Canon 5D. Since Diplo dresses like he is going in for a day at the office perhaps he was the obvious choice for the crossover.

Sony pulls the plug on the iconic Walkman

The first Walkman went on sale back in 1979 and inspired a generation of portable music devices. However Sony has finally decided to put an end to production of the product, except for a small amount in China. Seriously though, I kind of assumed they stop making them years ago. Can you even buy cassettes anymore? How about cassingles? I have owned a couple of Walkmans in my time and to me it was all about the sports model. Maybe it was that sturdy looking chunk of a body that would instantly drag your pants to the ground if you tried to use the belt clip, or maybe it was the super cool bright canary yellow colour or maybe it was even the anti-shock mechanism that would supposedly stop the tape jumping while you were running with the Walkman, while holding onto your pants so they wouldn’t fall down. Either way all that is gone now, RIP Walkman.

Sniffable Chocolate

Is this the perfect solution for the chocolate addiction you’ve developed over Easter? Breathable chocolate!

No, I’m not hallucinating – this stuff actually exists! Apparently it is supposed to curb your cravings, without all the calories. I don’t know if I would use it, but it sure is an interesting concept!

Oh, and coffee-holics… it also comes in “coffee” form.

“When you inhale, the particles immediately react with your taste buds, so you get this intense taste for less than one calorie” says Harvard University biomedical engineering professor David Edwards, PhD, who worked with a team of students and a chef to develop Le Whif.

Le Whif has sold over 60,000 tubes of breathable chocolate over the past nine months, and the company will start producing roughly 100,000 tubes a week starting April. Le Whif’s global operations manager Thomas D. Hadfield said that the company plans to launch new flavors this year and hopes to produce an inhalable three-course meal in the indefinite future.
