I am not sure what the point of M.I.A’s video to her new track ‘Born Free’ is, but it is certainly getting some publicity. Maybe because of the graphic violence, maybe because of the ‘politically charged imagery’, maybe because it is nine minutes long and halfway through you realise you haven’t been listening to the track at all, or just maybe because if this video was real Prince Harry and Ron Weasly would be in some deep shit.
Either way M.I.A together with director Romain Gavras, who also directed Justice’s video for ‘Stress’, have already create some M.I.A buzz. Lucky for her as the buzz generated by her recent comments in regards to her undying love for Lady Gaga seem to have already faded. Watch the video for ‘Born Free’ and ‘Stress’ below
